What CounterBid does

CounterBid connects people who want to sell trading cards with card shops that want to buy them. You list what you have; verified shops send you real offers; you decide whether to accept one. That is the whole service.

What CounterBid does not do

This part matters more than the rest, so it is near the top rather than the bottom.

• We never take your cards. Nothing is shipped to us. We do not store, insure, or transport anything.
• We do not handle the money. Payment happens directly between you and the shop. We do not process it, hold it, escrow it, or guarantee it.
• We do not authenticate or grade cards. We do not verify that a card is genuine, that a grade is real, or that a slab has not been tampered with. Condition and authenticity are between you and the buyer, in person, with the card in hand.
• We do not guarantee that a deal completes. An accepted offer is an agreement between you and that shop, not a contract with us.
• Prices shown are estimates. Market values come from third-party data and are a reference point, not an appraisal or a promise of what anyone will pay.

Your account

You must be 18 or older. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate information — a shop deciding whether to drive to you is relying on your ZIP code being real.

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

Listing cards

List only cards you own and can actually deliver. Describe condition honestly. Photograph the card you are selling, not a stock image of a nicer one. Withdrawing a listing before anyone has accepted is always fine; accepting an offer and then vanishing is not.

Offers and accepting them

An offer from a shop is a genuine commitment to buy at that price, subject to the card being what you said it is. When you accept, both sides get contact details and arrange the handoff. If the card in person does not match the listing, the shop may propose adjusted terms, and you are free to decline them and walk away.

Repeatedly accepting offers and not completing — on either side — affects the reliability record shown next to your account, and can end your access.

For card shops

Dealer accounts are reviewed before activation. Offers must be real and honored at the amount offered. You may see the amounts of competing offers; you may never see who made them, and attempting to identify or contact competing dealers through the platform ends the account. Seller contact details are for completing that specific deal and nothing else.

Things that end your access

• Listing cards you do not have, or misrepresenting condition.
• Making offers you do not intend to honor.
• Using seller contact details for marketing.
• Automated collection of listings, offers, or dealer data.
• Anything illegal, including stolen property.

No warranty

CounterBid is provided as-is. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that estimates are accurate, or that any listing will receive offers. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses arising from a transaction between you and another user, including a deal that falls through, a disputed condition, or a card that turns out not to be genuine.

Disputes between users

If a deal goes wrong, tell us through support. We can look at the record, mark the transaction, and act on accounts that behave badly. We cannot recover your money or your card, because we never held either one.

Changes

We will update these terms as the product changes and will note the date at the top. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you rather than quietly reposting the page.
